How to Spend 24 Hours in Bali, Indonesia
Morning
It’s good news. Tourists arriving at Ngurah Rai International Airport will not have to wait long to get to the beach. The world-famous Kuta Beach is within a few minutes’ drive from the airport and is an excellent site to begin your day. Even though the area becomes much more active at night, finding a good breakfast at one of the surrounding restaurants or warungs is not difficult (small, modest, family-run restaurants).
Take a leisurely stroll along the beach from Kuta and you’ll find yourself at Legian and eventually Seminyak without even trying. There’s no need to become too connected to these beautiful beaches because there will be plenty more to come.
Noon
Rent a motorcycle or a car with a driver for the day and travel inland to Canggu, a thriving artist area. This area is ideal for grabbing a bite to eat. Enjoy the verdant, calming view and fresh air while dining on Balinese food at a restaurant alongside the rice fields. Cloud 9 and Red Salt are two popular options.
Rice fields and beautiful beaches share the Canggu neighborhood. Relax with a drink or a coconut shell, or go surfing in the ocean. Canggu boasts a plethora of spas and massage parlors, many of which are less expensive than those in Kuta.
Mid-Afternoon
One of the island’s most popular places, located close to another magnificent beach, Tanah Lot, is not far from the bohemian, youthful Canggu. This traditional sea temple is beloved not only for its historical significance, but also for its breathtaking views of the sparkling blue sea, lush greenery, and dramatic cliffs.
The afternoons are ideal for visiting because many people flock to the temple at sunset, making it overcrowded. But don’t worry if you miss out on a beautiful scene: Bali offers plenty of beautiful beaches from which to watch the sun set into the sea.
Late Afternoon
Visit huge beaches to wave goodbye to the sun while burying your feet in the sand and sipping a coconut, as promised. The Bukit Peninsula in southern Bali is home to some of the island’s most beautiful beaches, all within minutes of one another. Look for Padang Padang Beach, which became renowned after appearing in the movie Eat, Pray, Love. The enormous rocky Suluban Beach and surfing paradise Bingin Beach are two other popular beaches for surfing or relaxing.
Visit Uluwatu Temple for more authentic cultural experiences and stunning sunset views. Many active monkeys live in the temple neighborhood, and though they are lovely and friendly, be wary of your stuff because they have an eye for glittering, colorful stuff. Tourists are welcome to visit the temple, where guides will gladly explain the temple’s history, cultural practices, and religious rites. Traditional dance performances are frequently held at the Uluwatu Temple at sunset.
Evening
For dinner, we’ll return to Seminyak. In the evening, the area takes on a new appearance, with crowded pubs, restaurants, and nightclubs. The majority of them are open until late. Seminyak offers a diverse range of shopping opportunities, from locally crafted souvenirs to high-end brand goods.
Many visitors choose La Plancha, a beachside pub with beanbag chairs on the sand. With live music, a DJ, and dancing, the bar becomes more lively as the night progresses. With its colourful décor and finger-licking superb Mexican food, Motel Mexicola has been attracting the best crowd of travelers who love to drink and chill indoors.
Seminyak is also a great area to stay the night, with a variety of high-end resorts and hotels. It takes less than 30 minutes to get to the airport from there, so it’s a great place to stay if you have an early flight. If you’re on a budget or want a more humble setting, motels and inexpensive hotels can be found in nearby Kuta.
